The XTC and SB truckload units give you more than the ability to control trailer temperatures. They take into consideration all the things that affect cargo temperatures, allowing you to then structure a temperature management system that fits your particular needs.
Getting to the right temperature faster.
It’s simple math. The faster you can get the trailer temperature pulled down to the required level for the cargo, the faster you can load and be on the road. Well, thanks to a unique Electronic Throttling Valve* (ETV), standard on the SB-210, Thermo King gives you one of the fastest pull down (and pull up) in the industry. How fast? Up to 40% faster than units not equipped with ETV. The TurboAir system, exclusive on the Carrier XTC, delivers advanced temperature performance. The XTC air-management system optimizes all aspects of the fan system to provide exceptional performance and efficient use of horsepower. By moving 11% more air through the box, the XTC provides more capacity, faster pulldown, more even air distribution, and consistent load protection. An Engineered air plenum, blower wheel, evaporator compartment, and airflow nozzle produce higher airflow and higher air velocity.

Thermo-King’s ETV provides the next generation of modulation control technology as a standard feature on the SB-210. It maintains temperature within a very narrow band, allowing a supply of moist, cool air to be delivered throughout the cargo with continuous circulation, thereby minimizing dehydration. Fresh fruits and vegetables are delivered in superior condition, and top freezing is eliminated.

Precise temperature management actually starts with Thermo King’s SMART REEFER technology in the MP-VI microprocessor controller. The MP-VI has become the new industry standard for thorough pre-trip and ongoing comprehensive diagnostic capability. The MP-VI also features new enhancements like a simple on/off switch, and a user-friendly keypad.
Among the user-friendly features are four keys that offer ready access to the most frequently used functions (operating mode, hour meters, gauges, pre-trip and start-of-trip data logging). Up and down arrows make it easy to select the desired temperature.
Carrier’s Advance hardware platform is based on proven reliable microprocessor control technology and offermany exclusive features. Advance is the only reefer control system in the industry that utilizes PC card technology for operating parameter setup, software upgrades, and data transfers, such as DataLink™ downloading. Field units can be upgraded quickly using only a PC card.
